Established in 1939, by Stephanus Johannes (SJ) Naude, fresh from his articles of clerkship, the firm initially operated out of a single office opposite the Alberton magistrate’s court. Over the course of a few years, the firm grew from strength to strength, and now runs from what used to be the historical post office building in Alberton North.
Over time, SJ’s son, Faan, joined, and eventually took over the firm after SJ passed away. The current director is Ginie Naude, who married Faan in 1982.
The firm was also the first law firm in Alberton to employ a black candidate attorney toward the end of Apartheid, making it somewhat of a trendsetter.
Notwithstanding Faan and SJ’s passing, the tradition of excellence and service to community lives on in the firm.
